Helltown & the Community…

Helltown Players wants to revive something that’s been largely missing in our vibrant Outer Cape community - the development and production of plays written by Cape Cod playwrights.

Many of the wonderful theatre companies on the Outer Cape offer experienced and novice playwrights a chance to engage in labs and hear their work read in public. The Provincetown Theater, Truro Playwright Collective, and Provincetown Dramatic Arts are wonderful organizations that offer an array of opportunities for playwrights. Some offer playwrights a chance to see their works produced in all their glory.

However, none of these theatre groups focusses solely on the production of new work written by playwrights from the Cape Cod community.

Producing on a show is a complicated endeavor and we will need all the help we can get. As a community-focused theatre collaborative, there are a bunch of ways for you to join in the fun.

How We Choose Our Plays…

Helltown Players is a group founded by 8 seasoned Cape Cod-based dramatists. We are committed to producing our plays as well as the works of playwrights with strong ties to Cape Cod. Our artistic committee is in charge of selecting the work Helltown Players wishes to develop and produce. We encourage Cape Cod dramatists to engage in our playwright programs and submit their works during the periods in which we accept play submissions. Find out more by visiting Playwright Resources.

Helltown Players is pleased to participate in the Card to Culture program, a collaboration between Mass Cultural Council and the Department of Transitional Assistance, the Massachusetts Health Connector, and the Women, Infants & Children (WIC) Nutrition Program by extending discounts to EBT, WIC, and ConnectorCare cardholders.

We are extending a 50% discount for show tickets. Please bring your program identification card to the box office to take advantage of this program.
