An important part of the mission of the Helltown Players is to be an artistic resource for the Cape Cod community. The 8 Trustees of the Helltown Players are seasoned dramatists who can’t wait to share their knowledge and expertise. The following are just some of our ideas.

Playwright Seminars

A series of playwriting seminars open to the public for a nominal fee. (Attendance for Hellions will be free!) These educational sessions will be hosted by Helltown Trustees and cover topics such as:

Writing the 10-minute play
Assembling a basic dramatist toolkit
How to create a website to promote your plays
The joys of character development

Helltown Playwright Lab

This Fall the Helltown Players will be forming a playwrights lab comprised of the Trustees of the organization and Cape Cod playwrights who have demonstrated the acquired expertise necessary to qualify for an open spot. As Fall approaches, we will provide guidance in the application process. Though we are not asking for submissions now, we will ask that all those who are interested provide a full-length script for the Playwright Lab committee to review. Please don’t send your scripts until we have announced the submission period. Become a Hellion or sign up for our mailing list so you don’t miss the opportunity to fill one of the open spots in the lab.

Play Submissions

Helltown Players will periodically provide open play submission for consideration of inclusion in our programs. These submissions opportunities will be available only for Cape Cod-affiliated playwrights – as outlined in our mission. We will make the terms of these submission opportunities known as they approach. Become a Hellion or sign up for our mailing list so you won’t miss the opportunity to share your work with us.
